Tour Description

Prepare to 'geek out' as we leave the modern world behind and enter the landscape of the Fraser clan. Our journey takes us to the very heart of the show's most iconic filming locations. We’ll visit the real-life Lallybroch and the imposing walls of Fort William, wander the cobblestones of Cranesmuir, and stand before the gates of Castle Leoch.

This tour gives you the chance to channel your inner yearning for the Highlands. We encourage our guests to recreate a scene or two - if you can keep a straight face for the photos! From the 1960s streets of "Inverness" to the somber courtroom of the witch trials, today is about channelling the spirit of the show with a sense of fun, laughter, and a bit of time-travelling magic.

Tour Highlights

This tour is a curated highlight reel of the show's most breathtaking locations. Each stop on the journey has been carefully selected to bring you closer to the world of the Frasers. Here's some of the legendary sites we'll explore together:

  • Midhope Castle (Lallybroch) - Visit the ancestral home of the Frasers and the most iconic doorstep in Scotland.

  • Blackness Castle (Fort William) - Explore the "ship that never sailed," used as the headquarters for Black Jack Randall.

  • Culross (Cranesmuir) - Walk through the beautifully preserved 17th-century village that served as Geillis Duncan’s home.

  • Doune Castle (Castle Leoch) - Discover the seat of Clan MacKenzie and a staple of Scottish cinematic history.

  • Falkland (Inverness 1960s) - See the charming village square where the legend begins.

  • Tibbermore Church - Stand in the courtroom where Claire and Geillis faced their darkest hour.

Tour Variations

One of the best things about a bespoke Outlander itinerary is that it can change based on your favourite moments. Do you want to find "real" standing stones? Or perhaps you want something special? The church where Jamie and Clare were married is in private hands and we can often arrange an exclusive tour delivered by the owner themselves. Just let us know your must-sees and we'll craft a legendary day out just for you!

From £590 for up to 5 guests. Please enquire for groups up to 8.

The Local Legends Difference

We lean into the fun. We are quite capable of discussing some of the more gritty, uncomfortable history of the Jacobite risings that underpin the show, but we believe an Outlander day should be filled with fun and a good giggle. We bring the stories to life with heart and humour.
